The how and why of Gindicate
Gindicate was founded on February 23rd, 2010 by Shannon aka KurlyGurl722 and Rikki aka Aut1102. The name was created when we blended the words Gin and Syndicate. If you look up the word Syndicate in the dictionary, it says: Syndicate: noun - An association of people formed to engage in an enterprise or promote a common interest. We didn't want to call ourselves a family, because while we will form tight bonds of friendship in this league, a family (as I know it) is full of chaos, drama, and the occasional falling out. I know we can't fully expect not to have these things in a league, but we can certainly hope for a better outcome and work as hard as we can to keep the negative aspects out.
Rikki and I met in another gin league and quickly found out that we have a multitude of things in common, right down to certain obscure products we use and the closeness in ages of our 3 children. When we could no longer function in this other league as staff members or otherwise, we decided to create a league of our own (no pun intended). We knew the hard work and struggle this would entail and we've taken these challenges head-on. I think, so far, we have created exactly what we set out to create. A fun and rewarding gin league. Not a job or obligation, just somewhere to come in, kick back and have quite a few laughs. I hope you all enjoy this league as much as we do. YOU are what this league is really all about.
